Mr. Farouki is the Chairman and CEO of Financial Instrument and Investment Corporation, an International firm that controls finance, construction and shipping companies in Europe, Middle East/North Africa and the Far East. For 30 years, Mr. Farouki has managed, developed and structured major private and public projects. He is the recipient of the President of the United States “E” Award for Excellency in exporting; the Outstanding Achievement in International Trade award from the Washington International Trade Association; and the Entrepreneur of the Year award from Washington Business Journal/Peat Marwick.

Mr. Farouki is currently on or has served on several boards including the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Georgetown University, Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, The President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts, The Washington Opera and The National Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Farouki was educated in England and the U.S. and holds Bachelors of Engineering and Masters of Engineering degrees.
