Religions for Peace welcomes His Holiness Pope Leo XIV and His message of peace

Religions for Peace gladly welcomes the election of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, offering our heartfelt congratulations and prayers. We listened with deep appreciation to his inaugural words, which conveyed a powerful and timely message of peace to the world. Pope Leone XIV’s opening greeting, “Peace be with you all,” resonated deeply within our global movement of diverse religious traditions, and we are particularly uplifted byHis commitment to “a disarmed peace and a disarming, humble and persevering peace” that “comes from God.”

This sacred understanding of peace as a gift of the Divine, offered unconditionally to all humanity, aligns perfectly with the core tenets of our diverse faith traditions. Pope Leone XIV’s spiritual assurance to “build bridges with dialogue, with encounter, uniting us all to be one people, always in peace,” closely mirrors Religions for Peace’s enduring efforts to foster understanding, cooperation, and reconciliation across religious traditions to achieve a shared sacred flourishing.
