Ms. Merete Bilde, Policy advisor to the European External Action Service of the European Union, describes her role in providing concrete ideas and analysis to shape policy at the intersection of religion and diplomacy. She works within a network of diplomats called the Transatlantic Policy Network on Religion and Diplomacy, which was formulated to share learnings on the religious dynamics shaping the world.
In this episode of “How Faith Matters” from Religions for Peace, Ms. Bilde shares her wealth of experience fostering religious literacy among European Union officials in order to deepen understanding of how religion shapes people’s lives and the world. ‘‘Religions, at the very grassroots level, can have some very important lessons for [European Union Officials],” stated Ms. Bilde.
