Multi-faith Action to Advance Gender Equality

Religions for Peace March 8, 2021
For over 50 years, Religions for Peace has been bringing together diverse faith leaders, communities, and institutions to advance gender equality and equip all women and girls with the resources they need to thrive.
The impact of the pandemic on women and girls has only reinforced the urgency of working together towards gender equality, which was already a Strategic Priority for Religions for Peace and our international movement of faith communities, leaders, and institutions.

UN Commission on the Status of Women 2021

Women and girls already bear the brunt of the economic and social impact of crises, and COVID-19 is no exception. At the same time, the pandemic has revealed the critical role of women’s leadership, from the highest echelons of decision-making to serving on the frontlines. It is against this backdrop that the UN will convene the 65th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, which will focus on women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence.

Stay tuned on our social media this month as we interrupt global narratives of chaos and violence with a clear vision and insight from women of faith.
