The Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia, the United Religions Initiative–Africa, and the G20 Interfaith Forum, in collaboration with the African Union’s Citizens and Diaspora Directorate (CIDO) and the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC), are organizing a two-day interfaith conference under the theme: “The Role of Faith Communities in Africa: Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the African Union Agenda 2063, and Africa’s 2025 G20 Process.”
The conference will be held on May 13–14, 2025, in Addis Ababa, the headquarters of the African Union. It will bring together religious and traditional leaders, interfaith and faith-based organizations, members of the diplomatic community, policymakers, NGOs, scholars, and other stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.
The event will be held under the patronage of H.E. Taye Atske Selassie, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Dr. Francis Kuria will speak on May 13 during the plenary session titled “The Role of Faith Communities in Africa to Advance G20 Purposes in Africa.”
