Ambassador Charlotta Sparre has 30 years of experience in international diplomacy, with a special focus on the MENA region, on regional security, governance and gender equality.

She is currently the director of the Swedish Dialogue Institute for the Middle East and North Africa and has previously served as ambassador of Sweden to Egypt (2013-2017), and to Jordan (2008-2013) and held several other positions for the Swedish foreign service. Charlotta Sparre is also a member of the Swedish women’s mediation network. She has written numerous articles and was the co-editor of the book “Reconstructing the Middle East”, published by Routledge in 2017.
