Dr. Mamta Shaha is a Board-Certified Pediatrician and an Assistant Professor of pediatrics at New York University. She is also a Board-certified Ophthalmologist from Bombay University.

Academically, she has been actively involved with teaching medical students and residents throughout her career. She also served on PROS (Pediatric Research in Office Settings) Committee of American Academy of Pediatrics.

She has served as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Adult Education Center. She worked as Joint Secretary and Secretary of the Gujarati Semaj of NY (a 3,500-family member strong organization). She further served on the women’s committee and had organized a very successful women’s convention on women’s empowerment.

She is actively involved with JAINA (Federation of Jain Association in North America) and has served as JAINA North East Vice president for two years and served as a director of the Jain Center of America NY for 4 years. She currently chairs two committees in JAINA: As a Chairperson of the JAINA Media Committee, she produced and directed the weekly Jain TV show “Mangalam” for 10 years. This was broadcast on local ethnic channels and internationally in UK, Europe and India. She also launched an internet channel on Jain religion which is accessible through an App, called “Jaina-Mangalam.” She also established the “Women’s Committee” in JAINA and serves as a Chair of the Committee.
