Mr. Homi Gandhi

Mr. Homi Gandhi attended Sydenham College (Bombay University) and the University of London, where he studied economics as a Tata Scholar. A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Mr. Gandhi provided accounting and consulting services on four continents for 20 years.

Mr. Gandhi has been committed to community service and helping others for many years. Mr. Gandhi has been involved with many public interest initiatives such as the activities done by the Zoroastrian Association of Greater New York in memory of 9/11, Mainstream for the development and education of the Bombay Urchin children, and aid relief projects for communities affected by the Bam earthquake, the South Asian earthquake, the Asian tsunami, and Hurricane Katrina. Some of Mr. Gandhi’s other contributions to society include pro-bono accounting services to many non-profit organizations, raising money for the Revlon Breast Cancer Walk, and volunteering for the Junior Achievement Program for teaching High School children in New York City.

Mr. Gandhi has a strong commitment to community service and helping others has been recognized in the many awards he has received. As a result of Mr. Gandhi’s support of active Zoroastrian youth in interfaith programs, a young Zoroastrian was nominated to the Working Committee of the Religions for Peace (North American Chapter) in 2005, and in 2006, a Zoroastrian youth was invited to the 8th World Assembly of Religions for Peace held in Japan. In 2004, he had the honor of ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. In 2010, Gandhi was the Recipient of the Temple of Understanding’s Interfaith Visionary Award.

Mr. Gandhi is currently the Vice President of the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America.
