Mr. Philbert Aganyo

Mr. Philbert Aganyo is a Youth Empowerment Advocate and Mentor who supports youth self-awareness, preparedness, and inclusion at key policy and decision-making levels of society, both in Kenya, and the Africa Region. He is the Team Leader of the Religions for Peace Youth Media Team.

A holder of a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Public Administration with a Minor in Communication from the University of Nairobi, and a Diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management, Mr.  has a rich passion for Programmes Management, Governance and  Public Policy, as well as Sustainable Community and International Development. He is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative’s (YALI) Regional Leadership Center East Africa, and is also The Kenyan Ambassador for YouthLead, an activity of YouthPower Learning, and a project funded by the US Agency for International Development.

He currently serves as The National Chairperson of the Kenya Interfaith Youth Network and also doubles up as a Member of the Africa Interfaith Youth Network (AIYN) Governing Council, where he serves the Kenyan and African Youth at National and Continental stage through Supporting Interfaith Dialogues for the Promotion of Peace, Climate Action, Religious tolerance and Countering violent extremism.

Professionally, Mr. Aganyo is a Programmes thoroughbred and a Development Consultant with over 10 years’ experience in supporting Inclusive Youth Engagement, Community Development and Humanitarian Action across Kenya and across the Africa Region. Having been trained in Mobile Reporting and Digital Communications at the DW Akademie in Bonn, Germany through a Fellowship program jointly funded by The German Foreign Office and Religions for Peace, he joined the newly created RfP Youth Media Team where he serves as Team Leader.
