Prior to joining Religions for Peace, Thomas worked at Blue Mission – an NGO in South Lebanon – where he developed ‘Karama’, a mobile medical unit that provides health care services to marginalized communities.
Mr. Keppen also worked on programmes related to civic engagement, education, and emergency aid, including a UNICEF-supported initiative to assist municipalities in their COVID-19 response plans. Thomas also served in the US Army, and now holds an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the American University of Beirut, where his academic research focused on the relationship between media and political mobilization.
