
Ms. Áine Beattie serves as the Development Associate at Religions for Peace, working strategically and collaboratively across departments, with particular focus on supporting the organisation’s fundraising and resource mobilisation efforts.
From the Scottish Highlands, Áine has a strong background in fundraising and grant management. Since graduating in International Relations from The University of Edinburgh, specialising in gender, peace and security, Áine has worked in development and has a proven track record of procuring new funding opportunities and contributing to the success of multiple organisations. Prior to joining Religions for Peace, she worked at Samaritans, the UK’s leading suicide prevention charity, and Positive Action in Housing, an antiracist homelessness and human rights charity dedicated to supporting people from refugee and immigrant communities.
Áine is a Trustee of The Young Women’s Movement, Scotland’s national organisation for young women and girls’ leadership and rights. She is also a Trustee of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom UK Branch (WILPF UK), whom she has represented at various UN disarmament conferences, and WILPF International at COP29, championing feminist peace.
Áine is the Chair of the Child Protection Committee for The SSC, an inclusive youth summer camp organisation, where she leads a volunteer team in safeguarding the welfare and wellbeing of the children and young people involved in the organisation.
