Ms. Deepika Singh

Deepika Singh is the Deputy Secretary General at Religions for Peace. She is responsible for developing and coordinating program strategy and policies, providing guidance and support to program officers, field staff, and affiliates across over 90 countries.

Ms. Deepika Singh is the Deputy Secretary General at Religions for Peace, with decades of experience leading initiatives in public health, peacebuilding, reconciliation, and sustainable development. She is adept at building multi-stakeholder partnerships and coalitions to address critical issues, including women’s challenges and the unique needs of children and youth.    

Prior to her current role, Ms. Singh held several positions within Religions for Peace. Currently she is responsible for developing and coordinating program strategy and policies. Moreover she oversees all programs and projects, providing guidance and support to program officers, field staff, and affiliates across over 90 countries. Her work involves establishing effective communication and coordination processes for program implementation across departments, regions, and countries. Ms. Singh also develops fundable projects to support the organization’s mission, creates capacity-building initiatives and resources, and represents Religions for Peace at governmental, inter-governmental, and civil society forums. She also cultivates and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including organizations such as the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and UNHCR.    

Earlier in her career, Ms. Singh worked with the Environmental Health Project (EHP) in Nepal, where she developed operational plans, coordinated the establishment of a Japanese Encephalitis laboratory diagnostic system, and liaised between the Ministries of Health of Nepal and India on a cross-border program for the prevention and control of kala-azar. She also has experience with organizations such as UNICEF, UNDP, Save the Children US, OXFAM, and the National Planning Commission/IUCN National Conservation in Nepal.    

Ms. Singh holds a Master of Public Administration in Non-Profit Management from Pace University, where she achieved a GPA of 4.0 and received the Graduate Student of the Year Award and the Award of Excellence in Public Administration. 1 She also holds a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Dhaka, where she ranked third in the University, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) from St. Bede’s College, Shimla, India, where she was awarded the Merit Prize for English Honors and French, and the Bedian Pin for Character, Leadership and Spirit of Service.  

Ms. Singh is fluent in English, Nepali, and Hindi, with a working knowledge of Bengali.   Her publications include works on Japanese Encephalitis laboratory diagnosis, Kala-azar Week strategy and impact, and malaria drug resistance.
