Ms. Emina Frljak

Ms. Emina Frljak is the Program Coordinator of Youth for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and serves as Deputy Coordinator of the International Youth Committee, representing the youth network to the World Council. She is a Master's student at the University of Sarajevo.

Emina Frljak completed elementary and high school in her hometown and then studied pedagogy at the Faculty of Educational Sciences within the University of Sarajevo, where she earned the academic title of Bachelor in Pedagogy. Then she enrolled in a master study at the same department and currently is working on her thesis. With an average grade of 9.47, she was proclaimed one of the best faculty students in academic year 2012/13, during her undergraduate study. She spent one semester in that academic year in the student exchange at the University of Jyväskyla, Finland. Ms. Frljak and her undergraduate thesis mentor, Prof. Mirjana Mavrak, PhD, published a paper in the Adult Education journal (Frljak, E. Mavrak, M. (2012): “Andragogical and legal transversal in the competencies and educational needs of university teachers and associates,” Adult Education, Vol. 11, No. 2, pp. 63–80) Ms. Frljak is currently finishing her second MA in Interreligious studies and Peacebuilding, a joint program of three theological faculties in B&H at University of Sarajevo and University of East Sarajevo.

She volunteered in the Office for Support to Students with Disabilities within the University of Sarajevo between 2014 and 2016. Since 2015, she’s an active member of the Youth for Peace as an educator and project coordinator for interreligious dialogue, peacebuilding and youth activism. Ms. Frljak has participated at numerous educational courses, training courses, seminars and conferences in the field of education, interreligious dialogue, and peacebuilding. It is worth to mention that Ms. Frljak was a youth representative from B&H on a meeting with French president Mr. Emmanuel Macron and Serbian president Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, where she talked about importance of dealing with the past, peace building and dialogue among youth in the Western Balkans.
