Ms. Lyka Mtambo is the Youth Representative from Religions for Peace's Interreligious Council in Malawi: the Public Affairs Committee. She is a Legal Practitioner and the Managing Attorney of a firm in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Lyka Rashida Asauka Mtambo is a Muslim from Malawi who considers herself an advocate for social justice.  Ms. Mtambo holds a Bachelor of Law and Shariah Degree from Zanzibar University. Ms. Mtambo is a Legal Practitioner and the Managing Attorney of a firm named Charlotte Ray & Associates based in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Ms. Mtambo is a Youth Volunteer for Public Affairs Committee of Malawi, an interfaith organisation that promotes human dignity in the Malawian society through advocacy, civic education and conflict transformation. She is also a member of the Africa Interfaith Youth Network.

Ms. Mtambo currently serves as a board member of an nongovernmental organisation called Malawian Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (MANET+). MANET + is a coordinating and facilitating body that promotes effective networking amongst associates and support groups of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and organisations working on HIV and AIDS.

Ms. Mtambo also volunteers for an organisation called Muslim Sisters Youth Organization (MUSYO) where she is the current chairperson of MUSYO, Lilongwe Chapter. As the chairperson of MUSYO Lilongwe Chapter, she has been key in organising activities related to the promotional of educational rights for the girl child, gender based violence, child marriages, HIV Aids and moral uprightness in line with Islamic teachings among young Muslim girls.

Ms. Mtambo is passionate about promoting and protecting the rights of vulnerable women.   In line with her commitment to promoting the rights of vulnerable women, she is a member of Rethink and Reconnect -Prevention of Gender based violence network, Malawi Chapter, a network of advocates for the prevention of gender based violence. As a member of the prevention of gender based violence network, she has been involved in awareness, advocacy and provision of legal pro bono services to women who have suffered gender based violence.
