Ms. Simone Margareta Forssell

Programme Associate

Simone serves as Programme Associate, supporting the development, coordination, and implementation of international programme strategies and initiatives. She contributes to both annual and long-term objectives, advancing resource mobilisation, cross-cultural stakeholder engagement, and high-level communications and advocacy.

With a deep-rooted interest in the study of religions, Simone earned a B.A. in History of Religions, with a minor in Social Anthropology, from Lund University in Sweden. As part of this programme, she undertook an Erasmus exchange at the University of Amsterdam, where she studied media and religious history.

As a scholarship recipient of the inaugural cohort of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Programme: Religious Diversity in a Globalised World (ReD Global), Simone also holds a joint M.A. in Religious Studies and Classics from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and the University of Coimbra in Portugal. Simone has extensive experience working in diverse intercultural and interreligious environments, and a strong academic interest in the study of digital and lived religion.
