Ven. Hyochul Kim is the Chairperson of Won Buddhism of USA, Inc., the Executive Director of the Won Dharma Center, the member of Supreme Council of Won Buddhism and represents Won Buddhism at the United Nations.

Ven. Kim was fully ordained in the Won Buddhist Order in Korea in 1979 and served at local temples and retreat centers over three decades.

She has been a leading figure in introducing Won Buddhism to the world by making Buddhist thoughts and practices more accessible to people in contemporary society.

Understanding the interdependent nature of life, she focuses on creating a spiritual community where people of various faiths and backgrounds work and grow together to bring peace and justice for all beings.

She has been striving to realize a vast and immeasurable paradise here and now. By expanding spiritual power, overcoming materialism and by helping people discover and cultivate their true nature, she hopes to build a world of Peace, Oneness and Equality.
