Religions for Peace and the N. Nazabayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue Launch a Global Partnership for Multi-Religious Collaboration

Launch of Global Partnership to Strengthen Multi-Religious Collaboration and Common Action

7 September 2023, New York City: Religions for Peace, the world’s largest and most representative multi-religious organisation, advancing common action among the world’s faith communities, is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Religions for Peace and the N. Nazabayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue (NNCDIID), aimed at combining organisational efforts and strengthening interreligious dialogue and cooperation in addressing the most pressing global issues.

This agreement comes at a critical time as the world’s religious and faith communities are called upon to address global issues that disproportionately affect the most vulnerable. While both organisations promote interreligious dialogue, each brings invaluable wisdom and experiences in cultivating interreligious cooperation from its unique perspective. The partnership of the two organisations brings together thousands of diverse faith leaders and interfaith communities to collaborate on strengthening and promoting interreligious dialogue and cooperation across the globe to restore mutual respect between people of different faiths, cultures, and beliefs – impacting millions of people, especially the most vulnerable communities.

This agreement aims to enhance each organisation’s efforts to cultivate sustainable multi-religious and interfaith collaboration by facilitating the joint planning of key efforts to promote collaboration and partnerships that advance the shared vision and mission of Religions for Peace and NNCDIID. These joint efforts include fostering mutual understanding between religious communities on the historical significance of the global platform of inter-confessional dialogue – the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions – and scaling up the mobilisation of knowledge-building and awareness-raising initiatives on the role of religion and multi-religious collaboration in addressing the world’s most pressing issues.

The agreement was signed by Ms. Deepika Singh, Associate Secretary General and Director of Programmes, Religions for Peace and H.E. Mr. Bulat Sarsenbayev, Chairman of the Management Board, N. Nazabayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue.

Religions for Peace is committed to promoting peace and harmony amongst all the world’s religious and faith communities, and looks forward to strengthening interfaith dialogue and cooperation with NNCDIID.
