RfP Japan has launched a project to hand-make and distribute 500 antibacterial masks in response to a low supply of masks available in the country. In addition, RfP’s interreligious council in China, CCRP, has donated 10,000 medical surgical masks to support RfP Japan’s response to COVID-19.
In order to distribute these masks, RfP Japan will utilize its vast network and experience working with social welfare centers and life support centers, to distribute the mask to refugees, people with disabilities, people experiencing homelessness, and healthcare workers.
RfP Japan has also taken symbolic actions to uplift their communities in this time of crisis. The youth board has launched a campaign of collecting photo and video messages from young people to share with those suffering from COVID-19.
Guided by the example of RfP’s global “Interfaith Moment of Hope and Solidarity,” RfP Japan will hold an online “Interfaith Prayer” every Wednesday a 1:00PM in Tokyo, Japan. All are welcome to join in this multi-faith prayer, offered in Japanese, using this link.
